Downtown FW is very family oriented and wholesome and not at all a place that caters to hipsters. The changes to Sundance Square, in particular, are conducive to socializing for any human of any age.

What kinds of things were you able to do previously that you can't do now? What specific changes have made you feel less welcome downtown?

I don’t believe panther island will receive another penny from the feds. I think moving forward the city needs to focus on the most cost effective method to get the project done. Tax payers will likely have to fit the rest of the bill to complete the project. There needs to be records of every dime being spent and more transparency since tax payers will be fitting the bill. I think that once panther island is completed it will produce profits 10 folds the original cost. Fort Worthians should look at this project as our Cowboys stadium. Arlington managed to pay off its debts to build Cowboys stadium ahead of schedule and now they’re building the the billion dollar Rangers stadium.

. . . I think you're just talking about the Near Southside & Magnolia Avenue because downtown itself caters to a general audience.

Oh there's no way they're going to get taxpayers to finish this... that's why this audit is happening now.

It's delayed and as disappointed as I am in that and the Grangers, it could be 10 times worse. I believe that even with this, it'll STILL be finished before the Trinity project in Dallas.

Naive question, but can this project be done with private funding, like Clearfork?

All of the land could be redeveloped privately right now. The flood control portion of the project isn’t really necessary on the scale being proposed. It’s only needed to remove the levies and better open the riverfront for development.

Also, Gateway Park is part of this... if needed, some of THAT would be cut down instead of the actual island.
