Cane Russo is actually good pizza but the poster from Joisey is going to have HIGH STANDARDS given his roots. lol I know, having spent my wonder years in not from south Jersey.

Del Friscos is a chain but a Texas based Steak house, so its authentic. also, Lonesome Dove in Fort Worth is excellent. Look around Halton City for some good Asian grub.

Middle Eastern: Prince Lebanese in Arlington, Terra Mediterranean in West 7th, Rozana Market in Coppell for Middle East groceries.
Vietnamese: go to Richardson

Yikes. Looks like I"m gonna be driving quite a ways to get food like I'm used to in NJ. :-( Oh well. There are always trade offs with every move.

As a foodie, I'll really, REALLY miss living in North Jersey, especially when I have to drive so far in TX to get my asian food fix. But, there are other positives of moving to TX, so hopefully it'll all balance out. Thanks for the recommendation of Halton City.

I forgot about the Vietnamese cluster in Haltom. I’ve never eaten over there, so I can’t recommend any place.
Arlington has a lot of Asian and Middle Eastern places, too. Prince is still my favorite.

So, its Irving for Indian food, Richardson for Vietnamese and Arlington for Middle Eastern, but is there a "china town" like area near DFW where I can get authentic (not Americanized) Chinese food? What about Chinese Food Markets where I can buy veggies like guy lan, yu choy, lotus root, etc.....? Does anyone know where that can be found?

The best Chinese food is in the small Chinatown off of Greenville Ave. in Richardson.

Arlington has good Vietnamese food and pretty good Chinese food. Pioneer Parkway east of Collins/Cooper has several restaurants and Asian grocery stores. Pretty big ones.
