While I agree with you I think you border on being dismissive and condescending to others at times JJG. Just my 2 cents.

Me and kdogg have been on these boards for a while, so it's nothing but respect.

I'm just saying, people thinking of Ft. Worth as "non-progressive" isn't anything new. Kinda hard to be seen that way when you're in a mostly red county.

Ok, admittedly maybe so. It would be nice if our local paper would put some fire under our city leadership to get things rolling quicker.

You see Fort Worth far diffeernrly than I do. I see her as an outsider.

Yeah, good luck with that one. I don't even think the Startlegram opperates in town anymore.

If you want bigger, gotta think bigger. Can't depend on the local papers, but you can try tv and radio. More eyes and ears on that.

Well I am a 29 year resident. I know the faults, ups, and downs of this city, and we still have a ways to go in certain categories.

Fort Worth chooses man over profit. That is the difference between Dallas and Fort Worth.

To people like me in all the many dull suburbs Fort Worth is amazing and is as desirable a place to go spend time as Dallas easily.

To me the beauty of DFW is the Dallas Yin to Fort Worth Yang. I love and appreciate the differences. I visit a friend of mine in Fort Worth every Saturday and we have a blast in town every single time. Yall have so much to treasure in Fort Worth. Cowtown is one of Texas crown jewels along with San Antonio.
Fort Worth has pretty much preserved its history. It’s time to move forward in building more infrastructure and a strong core similar to peer cities like Austin.

That’s only in the core and to be honest it has one of the strictest downtown design and review boards in the country, which discourages developers from investing in the core. The city also turned down a street car grant from the federal goverment that would have connected core districts. In that instance the city definitely didn’t choose the pedestrian. I will co-sign overall Fort Worth is definetly more pedestrian friendly compared to Dallas and other Texas cities.

If that were the case, we'd have a much... MUCH better transportation system and the Bass Family wouldn't have put a cap on certain businesses/modern streetcars in downtown.

Also, there's gentrification and eminent domain practices happening here, as well, just like any other major city.
