You’re right about the sports, but Keller, Central and Timber Creek have all made finals at the dfw boa regionals the past few years, so better band is splitting hairs a bit. All three are good, and yes I know there are four high schools. I saw the posts about stay east of 377 when I was looking for a house. We chose heritage and we’re very happy with that choice. Obviously if you want more yard this wouldn’t be the place to settle. But the trails and parks are great, lots of trees and friendly neighbors.

The Keller HS Band marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade last year, one of only 10 HS's in the country to do so, and the only HS from Texas. That is a significant achievement and those kids and parents put in a great deal to earn that experience. The other schools compete regionally; the Keller band competes nationally. I've seen the other bands and they are good, but they don't even compete in the same division as KHS.

Having said that, music programs in Keller ISD in general are excellent. KISD was recently named one of the best programs for musical education in the country. (Forget where I read it).

I have recommended the Heritage area on here several times. It is a super nice area. The architecture all around is great. Have you seen The Bluffs neighborhood? Way out of our price range, but the views from there...just amazing.

I do like Central's building better though.

ETA: I do agree with you about people checking out all areas; you don't have to be in "the best" school to get a great education and experience. There are many great schools in DFW that are overlooked.
