Thanks again ChristieP. I’ve recently heard to add 20 mins from 820 loop so that’ll push out flower mound to 50 min drive.

Noticed I35N has toll road, does this get congested too?

Wonder how is commute from Colleyville to Fort Worth.

Work is Fort Worth downtown, looking at Flower Mound to reside. Google map is telling me 31 miles/35 mins via 1171 to 35W. Is this pretty congested 30 mile commute? Will be commuting daily 7am-5pm unless telework is going to here for a while.
Plan on your commute taking 2 hours each way on a good day, race weekends, double it

I’m aware of Carroll ISD boundary, thx for reminding this ChristieP.
The commute is worse than Austin, north/south roads are pretty tight.

I would agree with other posters to look at Keller ISD (My Bias) or Colleyville. Also, check out some of the schools in HEB, that might be an option for you

Pretty sure HEB isn’t the grocery store... may need to be brought up to speed on acronyms.

Hurst-Euless-Bedford ... or the mid-cities area, west of DFW airport.

You might also look at the northern part of North Richland Hills. Some great areas there. Not sure re schools.

That's a good point that if you rely on I-35W for a daily commute, it will be twice as bad on Friday preceding the weekends when there is a race at the Texas Motor Speedway.

Yes, there are tolled express lanes on I-35W. I honestly can't say if they are crowded or not, but I can tell you they are expensive, as in over $5 a day for a round trip.

Race traffic is a myth from a bygone day, at least on I-35 and definitely not on Fridays on a race weekend. The capacity of the track was lowered quite a bit when they removed the seating on the back straightaway and dwindling interest in the sport has seen the track getting to maybe 2/3-3/4 of a sell out. I started going to races about 10 years ago and I've never sat in traffic outside of the parking lot going in. I've only encountered traffic leaving on 114 on the west side of I-35. A combination of better roads, better traffic management, and smaller crowds make race traffic mostly a non-factor unless you're going to a race or trying to get to something adjacent to the track.

Very interesting. I can still say that 114 through Grapevine is definitely busier on race Saturdays than on other weekends, though it is not the parking lot that it was when the track first opened.

2 hours each way for 30 mile commute is worse than LA traffic. Double that on race day might be worst traffic in US. Good to know either way.
