Moving to the area in a month or so to a home without a pool or community pool and looking for options to cool off in the summer. Eagle Mountain is the closest lake. Can you swim there? Are there any public beaches accessible via car? Can you rent small boats or anything? Any other fun things to do on or by the lake?

Eagle Mountain has a nice clean, safe beach at Twin Points Park on the south end of the lake. I haven't been in decades, but I had a Facebook friend post pics from there a few weeks ago and it still looked great. There's a marina nearby with boat and jet ski rentals and there's a restaurant in between the park and the marina. I don't believe Lake Worth nearby has much in the way of beaches and a lot of the lake is hard to access even from the adjacent parks. Grapevine has some parks with decent swimming access and I believe they are mostly recovered from being wrecked by flooding a few years ago. Meadowmere Park had a water inflatable area at one time, but I think it only lasted for one season.

It's a nice beach. They only charge $10.00 for weekdays and $20.00 for weekends to park.
