I've gotten three quotes so far for a 30' x 40' x 14' metal shop and the prices are all over the map. Lowest is $38k all the way up to $68k. Curious to know what others in the area have paid.

Some specs:
30x40x14
15x20 covered side patio
6" slab
Three 10x12 doors
one walk through door
one window
4' brick wainscoting around the bottom (HOA rules)
insulated
no electrical

Nowehere near your low estimate! Of course that was 18 years ago.

Have you spoken to the poeple over at Mueller? https://www.muellerinc.com/buildings

Another thing to watch out for is if it is a weld up or bolt up. Also are they using primary or recycled steel. Unless they have changed Mueller is all primary steel and the contractors they send you to or have do your job are reputable.

I just had a Mueller building put up in the Weatherford area. I had it done through the general contractor who's building my home on the same property.

I paid $40,000.

Specs: 21' x 50' x 16' sidewalls, insulated, 16' W x 14' overhead door, 3' man door, 7' x 7' roll-up door, 200A service, 8 interior overhead lights, 3 exterior lights, outlets (including 2 50A RV outlets), water, sewer, concrete.

Notes: I paid extra for trenching the sewer from the building to the house septic. No wainscoting. No windows. Garage door opener was extra.
