Dears,

I am international student come to US first time, I will study english program for one year in UTA, english Language Institute ELI in Arlington.

Any way, could you tell me, why I can't find home stay or host family accomadition in Ft worth or Arlington ?? I must stay with some body who speake english very well ( not english student ) to support my language skills.

in addition, what about puplic tranportation around Arlington, there are bus or train connect between Arlington, Ft worth and Dallas ??

Arlington and Ft worth is cheap or expancive city compared with other city around US ??

one more thing, do you think I am lucky when i choose Arlington to study and stay in US ??

in other word, Arlington is good place to find good friends and tourism places, Fun and Nightlife while I staied there ??

Your effort is highly appreciated

thanks

I think you'll find that living in Arlington isn't that bad as you're pretty much in between both Dallas and FW.

UTA also seems to have a very international student mix so you will meet new friends very quickly. As for housing, have you tried talking to someone at UTA who might be able to point you in the right direction for finding a host family? I know there are services that place people but I'm not sure where to find them except doing a search on the internet.

Good luck and enjoy your stay here.

Arlington does not even have public transportation. No buses, no subway, etc. Cost of living is low. You should choose a university where you can find a host family, not a university first, then find a host family, you know? My freind had her host family in Alabama.

Why did you pick arlington in the first place??

good, it's between them but i can live in FW and report every day to UTA without private car, just using bus or any puplic transportation.

for housing, i made search and found roommates only, UTA it self can arrenge housing on campus or roommates only, No host family

it's ok, but what i can do now!! are you advise me to change UTA and Texas state to other place.
but the proplem is, i don't have any idea about other places in US.

my ideal city must has specific features like:
- cheap city, funny and good for tourist, has good institute to learn english and nice weather or not cold.

until now, i don't know why all states in US has homestay except Texas. any reason for that !!

thanks for your replay
