No offense but Chuck E. Cheese birthday parties are like a cattle call. There is no personalization whatsover and the partygoers get lost in the shuffle with children who are not a part of the party.

Judging from your posts Yuppiemom, I don't think a Chuck E. Cheese party would be to your standard. JMO

well is the party for the mom or the kid?

I ABSOLUTELY HATE chuckEcheese... but when my kids we in the 4-7 age bracket they LOVED it! so yes we were broken down by #3 and did her 5th party there and ALL the KIDS had a blast...

Have you asked your daughter what she wants to do?

My middle daughter loved having parties at home...(she hated big crowds and noise etc...) one year we did a spin on the "barbie cake" theme and made several little Kelly cakes for all the girls...they love playing all hte old time favorite party games...pin the tail on the donkey (we did crown on the princess...) musical chairs etc... the "limbo", Freeze dance etc...

You'd be surprised at how many kids nowdays like to have at home parties as it seems to have become a thing of the past, so I guess it's new to them. After all the Chuck E Cheese's, skating rinks, etc. I think they get a kick out of it. One good thing about it, 6 year olds are pretty darn easy to please.

I called to make reservations at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine TX for one night (March 20th) for 4 kids and 2 adults and it was $816.00!!!!!! If you have not been there before that is WAAAAAY over priced. It's not Disney. Not worth the money AT ALL unless you have that kind of money to blow on one night at a hotel and waterpark.

that date is during Spring Break for many area ISDs -- I would guess there are plenty of people taking a vacation at Great Wolf Lodge so there are probably no deals going on--
no one said it was a cheap hotel--if you check what it would cost to go to a water park for 4 kids and 2 adults and then get hotel room at a reasonable nice hotel (not discount cheap--and you would probably have to get two rooms because of the occupancy rules) I think you would pay about the same amount

I am not saying do or don't--I am just saying make sure you are talking comprables--
Great Wolf Lodge is not just a hotel...and people go there because they know it is not...
PS==at the water park in Arlington people over 48" pay 26 bucks each, those under pay 20 and kids 2 and under are free--so it depends on how big YOUR children would be for comps

in Arlington on Hotels.com for that Saturday (another reason the rate is high) even Holiday Express is 66 plus tax and you would need 2 rooms with 6 people...

so the only place to be AT a water park in March in TX is at an indoor park--you pay for the out of season luxury...
