I just read on nbc5i.com "Arlington is partnering with The Fort Worth Transportation Authority's T Bus Service to provide non-stop commuter bus service between the two cities. The expanded service is starting next Tuesday and will include two commuter lots in Arlington that will connect to the Intermodal Transportation Center in downtown Fort Worth."
"Fort Worth Partners With Arlington To Provide Bus Service - News Story - KXAS | Dallas:"

I think this is huge news for the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, and Tarrant County. Its about time Fort Worth and its suburbs start growing up.

will be interesting to see how people actually use the service
many of the people who might work in FTW may not work in the downtown section and don't want to find other buses to take them to work site

letter to editor in FTW paper about bus service said that the writer was long-time Arlington resident who had always voted against the bus service proposed in the past to be financed from city bonds because it was designed to be commuter service taking ARL people to/from Dallas or FTW--which is exactly what this bus service is designed to do...
the writer wanted IN-TOWN bus service--so that people who live in ARL would be able to ride bus from homes to like Ranger game or to maybe the Parks Mall for shopping or back and forth to work if you lived/worked INSIDE Arlington--like at the GM plant or someplace else...
Frankly I think Arl is so fragmented with no central downtown area--about the only place with high-density people is around UT Arlington campus and I guess those people would appreciate having a city bus service so they did not have to either live close to campus or drive across town...

Arlington should have started a bus service more than 30 years ago--probably too late/expensive to put it in place now
FTW has said that the ridership on ITS buses has grown and there is demand to add new buses on certain runs but that is expensive proposition
also that there is more demand for the lease-van-carpool program the city runs with people in outlying areas that work in FTW to use...those vans are all taken and there apparently are quite a few on list for any new vans that come into the program...

My son is trying to get transportation from Arlington TCC campus to the Ft. Worth campus on Campus Drive. Is there a bus that can transport him from Arlington to Ft. Worth?
