I am Navy Reservist currently doing a tour in Afghanistan, but, am seriously thinking of relocating to Texas to work at a gym then start my own personal training business. So many people I know that live there just rave about it. I was looking for a state where I could purchase some land, engage in my interests and start a new circle of friends. Texas, as a whole, seems to have a dynamic economy with possiblilities for someone like me who is starting a new life and wants to turn an interest into a business. Any thoughts or comments? I am researching Texas and looking specifically at the Forth Worth area.

Huguley Hospital which is located on I35 on the south side of Fort Worth has a great gym and a number of personal trainers. People come from all around the area to this gym due to its facilities and personnel. The lady you would want to speak with is named Julie. I see smaller gyms cropping up around the area and our population is increasing daily, so I see the need. As a matter of fact a gym just opened a few months ago in a small shopping strip not far from where I live (Burleson), and judging by the cars parked out front they are doing good. This might be something to consider, get your foot in the door, make contacts and go from there.

There are areas outside Ft. Worth where you can still purchase land at a reasonable price. The economy in north TX has been quite good despite the recent downturn in many areas of the country.

It is really hot in TX in the summer, but nothing compared to Afghanistan when wearing full gear. Come home safe and best wishes with your career goals.

Thank you. I'll still be here for awhile, but that gives me plenty of time to plan.
