Hi,
We're looking for a good private school in Fort Worth. Anyone know anything about FW Academy, Trinity Valley vs. Country Day?? Any input would be appreciated!

Sorry I can't tell you much except that I've always heard that Country Day School is a good one.

County Day is where most of the "old money" people go--perception is that it is the most "elite"

there is all saints episcopal as well
FW Academy is for musically gifted students--think there is audition process there...

Not sure if you have found your private school yet...My child is at Country Day and we just love that school. The staff is so wonderful, kind and helpful. Our teacher and her assistant are just the best. My kiddo loves everything about the school and the kids. While this school might have an "elite" stigma, the people have been anything but...in my experience so far. All the moms and dads have been really nice and are just concerned about their children getting the best education possible.

In addition to a great curriculum, they put emphasis on sports and the arts which I favor.

If you call admissions they will be glad to give you a tour and set up a meeting with you.

We also checked out FW Academy---it's a lovely, smaller school with a wonderful staff. The only thing I didn't care much for is they end at 8th grade.

Trinity Valley was on our radar....cannot find much fault with that school.

Are there any non-religious private schools in the area? We currently live in fort worth but are willing to move to find a good non-religious private school. I feel religion should be taught in the home and public school is out of the question, at least in this area.

The January 2009 edition of Fort Worth, Texas magazine has a guide to all the private schools in Fort Worth and Tarrant County.
