Move here from another state. Daughter is doing great in school.A's...except for Math. It's been a struggle from day one(she has also been in TAKS math since day one). I was under the impression that TAKS math class was supposed to support Regular Math. Well, she is getting A+'s in TAKS math and barely passing regualr Math.In addition, I bring her in early several days a week for "tutoring" for Math. She is still struggling and crying from frustration. Am I wrong for asking both math teachers what to do? I sent them an email telling them how I felt and asking for help....they just forwarded it on to the asst. principal.Does she need a tutor in addition to this? Do I pay for that? I just don't think she should have to come in early, in addition to having two math classes.

but the GT class is not math--right--that is ELA---
saw that a lot--had it with my two children--both loved ELA and struggled in math--had a tutor from the time they were in 7th grade through high school...same person--

so is she is two full time math classes DURING school hours--one for regular math and one for TAKS prep since she is struggling in grade-level math--whatever it is?
or is she is TAKS math before/after school or like very other day when she is OUT of her grade-level math class?

frankly in MY school--a teacher got in trouble for fobbing a parent's email about a student's lack of progress off to an asst principal...WE were always supposed to reply to ANY request for information from a parent whether it was the first, fifth, or fifteenth time parent called/emailed...we were also supposed to note that call/response on the computer system that tracks grades/attendance/and other into--like discipline referrals for tardies..

I am sending you a PM--don't want to post what I am thinking on line
