I recently moved into a new house and we've been seeing these tiny, razor thin black worm looking things appear every once in a while on our floors and carpet. They look like very tiny worms and coil themselves up.

Does anyone know what they are?

I don't know the name, but they are harmless. If I'm thinking of the same thing, they are hard, dark, and shiny. I usually find them on the floor after they are dead and all coiled up. I've seen them all my life. They come in from outside, I just sweep them up and go on. Hope that helps.

This is why we have pest control! I just HATE bugs!

With this said. We had our home built in a new neighborhood. When we moved into our home, we had a couple of black widow spiders, other weird-looking spiders (some of which were these huge brown furry ones)...and, ants. The reason? Our house took over their land! Now we have our home sprayed every few months to keep these critters away. It is one of the BEST investments in my eyes!

Sounds like some bugs I've been seeing more of lately too! I'd rather have them than the black widows txartcgal posted photos of! Maybe they just come out alot this time of year... no idea, but I hate them too! Post if you find out how to get rid of them easily! for expample I know that dish detergent is a great ant killer!

Ya we use to ahve a lot of those back in our old house in Decatur during the winter. They are just little worms and completely harmless. Once they get in your house, they usually die anyways.
