Aledo's great - my daughters go to school there. Its a wonderful school system that is growing - Aledo and Carroll school districts were the only two in North Texas all the way down to central texas at least till stephenville, that held the rank of "excellent" Carroll school district with cities like southlake is probably really good but also really expensive. Aledo has slipped to the rank to recognized possibly because its going thru a growth spurt - but still ranks second only to carroll. anyway aledo and granbury is like apples and oranges - granbury does have the buzz of shopping etc. but aledo is easliy acccessible to fort worth hulen weatherford etc.

Here's what i recommend - buy outside the city of aledo but within the school district in parker county in subdivisions like m3x along hwy 377 - it will give u access to both aledo and its school district and fort worth. In fact we are planning to move outofstate from such a location and our house will be on sale shortly. Benbrook is another choice - both these places will give you the small town /country feel of aledo but are cheaper. Benbrook is your other option within fwisd.
