Default Vintage Train

The historical train you mentioned is based in Grapevine, TX--called the Tarrantula--it runs into Fort Worth maybe twice a day on weekends--there were plans to have to go to the Stockyards and then on to Granbury--a small town w/nice, historical sq and some shopping and entertainment options--but don't think that ever took off...
If you google Tarrantula train Grapevine you should get some hits
I haven't ridded the Trinity line but this is what I have gained from reading paper and talking to people who have--so some information may not be that current or correct....

the Trinity rail goes to/from FTW to Hurst/Richland Hills station and into Downtown Dallas by America Airlines Center and you can catch Dallas city buses and go into the Village or other places--but the times of trains aren't always convenient and people have complained about missing the last train back to parking lot to get their cars at night and being stranded at the station in Richland Hills/Hurst area...
(don't think there is stop in Irving but there could be)--some people use this for daily commuting into FTW but not like BART or Washington/NYC subway systems.

there is talk/movement to use the Tarrantula train's line to add commuter rail system to service the northwest Tarrant area--Southlake/Grapevine, North Richland Hills, possible Keller and bring people into fort worth and down into the TCU area south of downtown---would require cities to provide monies gained from new tax revenue--right now it is just some talk--gas prices motivate the talk--higher prices get people adjatated but don't think anything will happen until people really just can't afford to drive their own cars--people in TX HATE public transportation because of the negative stigma they associate with it and the fact that it does not allow for total freedom in decision making--like driving your car does...

Probably got more than you bargained for, I guess...
