I may soon be moving to glen rose, where my husband will work at the nuclear power plant. I am curious where the best place to live would be? I don't want to live in a small town, we are both young and I am still in school. I was hoping to live near the fort worth area..how long of a drive would that be? Is the traffice bad? I am clueless about texas, we have never been there. I am so lost! Any info would help!

Default Glen Rose/S Ft Worth

The southernmost suburb on the way to Glen Rose is Benbrook, which is a separate municipality from FW, but still in FW school district, unfortunately. From Benbrook to Glen Rose is about 43 mi; the good news is that traffic will mostly be going the opposite direction at commuting time.

Between FW and Glen Rose is a town called Granbury, which has a population of about 8000. It's about 30 mi from FW. A lot of people move down there to be near the lake. It's big enough that there's a Home Depot, Wal-Mart, a few chain restaurants like Chilis, etc. I don't know anything about the schools there.

Glen Rose is an hour away from Fort Worth and 44 minutes away from Burleson, Texas which is Fort Worth most southern suburb. I suggest Burleson will be a good fit for your family.

You're right, Burleson would be better. Since I always drive 377 to Glen Rose, I was thinking of Benbrook, but your advice is better.

Burleson might be a good fit but is still going to be quite a drive. Granbury might work. The question would be if your planning to attend a local college and if so the closest, I think is Tarleton state in Stephenville.
