maybe retiring to FTW... (home, safe neighborhood, school district)

Hi, my husband is military and retiring at the end of the summer. I am from Shreveport/Bossier area of Louisiana and would like to move back to that area, but there just doesn't seem to be any good paying jobs. So, the FTW area isn't too far of a drive for me go home often. My husband is VERY interested in working at Lockheed (sp). We are looking at what city we would like to live in if he were to get a job there.

We do have a son that would be starting 9th grade. So, we need a good school district. He is not athletic, so sports isn't a issue.

I want to be within 15-20 minutes to shopping and resturants.

No, more than 30-45 minute commute for husband to work.

I would love to live close if not on a lake, but this is not a must.

Looking at around $200,000 house.

Of couse what ever one wants safe neighborhood.
