Just being boys, beowulf, probably exploring. He was 14. Some kids have no sense of danger, unfortunately.

I have some choice words about the parenting of him, but I'll bite my lip and let it be.

Getting back on topic, no severe weather in the immediate forecast. Enjoy the sunny, mild weather FW will have over the next few days!

Chance of rain Easter morning and it'll be cold, 50's I think. Easter weather usually sucks.

Just great, here's another tornado warning (http://cbs11tv.com/weathernewsstories/monday.weather.forecast.2.688146.html - broken link). This affects Johnson and Tarrant Counties. I hope this turns out to be more bark than bite.

It's spring time in Texas and the severe weather is upon us. It rained like crazy in my part of Central Texas today, wind blowing, and hail too. The largest were only as big as 1/2 dollars and all I could think about was, "Oh, please don't ruin my brand new cedar privacy fence." Ugh. I didn't even make it to my storm cellar so I huddled in the hall with my two large canine pals. Gosh, I hate storms.

The only good thing about the brutal heat in the summer is that severe storms are minimal or nil.

I believe a tornado did do structural damage in Godley (Johnson County), but no injuries were reported.

I lucked out today in south Fort Worth. A thunderstorm just missed me to the north, and another more severe complex missed me to the south. It appears that April 3rd might be another severe weather day. I'm a ham radio operator and spent most of the afternoon listening to the SKYWARN Net and all the storm spotters.

I didn't observe any severe weather. Then again, I didn't leave the office until 7 p.m. By then, the sky had cleared, but it was really windy. I saw some puddles, but that's all.

I, and a couple of others, left work about 4 pm yesterday so we wouldn't be caught out in it. The radar had shown several cells heading into the Metroplex with one of the larger ones coming toward my area. But I didn't see anything driving home. I turned on the tv and the weatherman said that the cells were disappearing as quickly as they were popping up. But you never can be sure about systems like this. About 5 years ago when I worked in Fort Worth they called for a small cell of some rain in the south part of town and it quickly turned into a tornado and hail. And this was in October of that year!

I saw the damage in Godley from the tornado yesterday. I thought someone spotted another funnel elsewhere but I can't remember.

Tis the season in Texas!

^ There were funnel clouds spotted in Joshua, TX. I'm not sure exactly where that is, but it's apparently within D/FW.
