I am moving to the area and am looking for affordable spaying options with obviously good quality care. I have a 3 year old adopted dog that was not spayed at the shelter I adopted her from (I know--sort of strange she wasn't). I would like to have her spayed and am wondering if there are any affordable services that offer spaying. Maybe a shelter or something on the lines of a group looking to decrease the pet population would offer something affordable to entice people to spay in the first place?

I would love suggestions along those lines. Also, if you had your dog spayed somewhere and recommend it, I'd like to hear that. I will be in the Bedford area but would be willing to travel for the right vet.

there are times when spaying is offered at a discount as public service program--don't know about now when some charities are suffering because of the economy and reduced contributions

you might call Tarrant county animal shelter or the town you live in to see if anyone there is aware of low-cost options
if your dog is a true breed--you might call the rescue group for that breed and see if they have any suggestions...

and just google--low cost spaying and your town or DFW-- and see what comes up...

texasforthem.org

They are low cost spay/neuter and also do vaccinations. One clinic is in Denton, the other Fort Worth on Westport Pkwy. The website will also have the prices. Thanks for being a responsible pet owner. :-)

Be careful using the one on Westpark. My buddies dog died about 3 hours after he got it home. All they had to say was "you signed a waiver".

My mistake, I am referring to the one that is in the shopping center next to the barbecue place. I think you are correct it is Westport.

The Southside Veterinary Clinic in south Fort Worth (go figure) offers excellent pet care. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
