[SIZE=2]This drive is going to suck with traffic it'll take well over 1.5 hours to get to and from work.

I am willing to do it because this is my dream job. Relocating from my apartment is out of the question as I am in the middle of a lease and living with my girlfriend and the job is temporarily 6 months.

How does the dart work? I mean, how would I get from the dart to my work once I get to Plano? Wouldn't it all end up being way longer than I'd be spending in my car?

Or is there a better option?

DART rail will take longer since you will have to go through downtown Dallas to get to Plano.

Your best traffic option will be 820 to 183, then the 121 tollroad north. Make sure you have a Tolltag because those tolls will add up.

My husband commuted to North Dallas off 635/75 using the TRE and DART from the Richland Hills Station and that took him 1 1/2 hours.....so to go from downtown Fort Worth all the way to Plano would be likely well over 2 hours. No way is any temporary job worth that kind of commute in my mind. You'd be gone 4-5 hours a day traveling, plus a 9 hour work day(have to consider lunch), so you'd be gone for 13-14 hours a day!

Any driving route will be similar, though you might find a way that's smoother than most. Good luck, glad it's not me!

I would suggest taking I30 or I20 and pick up 161 right after 360 and stay on it until it becomes 190. It takes you straight to Plano. Get a tolltag from NTTA and you're set.

nsumner's route should almost never back up once you get past IH 30
(161 from IH 20 is not an option right now, as it doesnt go all the way through)

make that 161 tollroad north, George Bush Turnpike

121 is an option, no toll, but awful traffic

820 to 183 is THE WORST stretch of highway in the FTW area--
you would do better IMO to look at 114 across Southlake/Grapevine and maybe use surface road to try to hit the GB someplace on the other side---
if you live in W FTW why can't you just take 30/121 through downtown--early in AM there is not that much traffic going east but it does get busy fast--
what time line are you shooting for
