Hello.

I am a pretty low-budget person. I live up in NY State in a beautiful 1920s house with lots of room, a big yard, nice neighborhood kids playing ball in the street, and wonderful mature trees everywhere. My house would probably sell for $55k today.

I am unemployed but when I was working I was apparently worth about $35k.

Is there a neighborhood that you think I might fit into? I am accustomed to being in the ethnic minority but I wouldn't want to be the only white guy on the block. I prefer older homes, city folk, reasonable quiet, and not getting burglarized too often.

Any hope, or should I just stay here?

Thanks

S

Whereabouts in NY state? Could help understand a little of what we have here that fits your needs. Yes I am familiar with NY state.

I do have chuckle at your "burglarized" statement though

I'm getting reply notices and I'm replying, but nothing is showing up here.

My apologies to those who are not seeing responses.

Did that work?

I live in Rochester Northeast. I suspect that if I describe my neighborhood, some weenie is somehow going to interpret it as an illegal thought and bar my post, so I'll stop right here.

It's a nice comfortable neighborhood for non-weenies, though.

Default Fairmont

Look into the Fairmont neighborhood; near the hospital district. It is a revitalized(still in the process) neighborhood that is very friendly and diverse. Homes sell in the low to mid 200's and there are some decent rentals. There are also some slums still so you have to look around.
