Hello. I'm considering moving to Grapevine and have found an apartment complex located directly behind Grapevine Mills Mall that falls within my price range.

I know that Grapevine generally is a good area, but I'm sure there are parts of it that aren't so great or "nice" and would like to know where that would be, so I can avoid it!

I am currently in Arlington and have had my share of unpleasant experiences at certain residential communities and am trying to avoid this with my next move. My main concerns are the surrounding areas, crime, safety, and noise (as in partying/music or noise caused by neighbors, not traffic).

I am not familiar with Grapevine (aside from what I have read through Google-ing statistics and looking up info from Grapevine's city website), so any information pertaining to this area in particular (near Grapevine Mills Mall) would be very helpful. Or any specifics regarding nicer parts of Grapevine and/or parts to avoid would be great as well.

Thank you all in advance!

Here is the City of Grapevine's website: City of Grapevine, Texas > Home

My husband and I have lived here for almost 8 years and we love it. Grapevine has VERY low crime, well-kept streets and parks, a gorgeous library and community center, and two great street festivals every year.

The apartments near the Mall are fine. The only bad thing is that they are a little isolated and far from a grocery store.

Stay away from the apartments and trailer parks off Mustang Drive. I actually live about a mile away and we've had no problems from them, but if you read the police blotters in the newspaper, they get a lot of calls there! I've never had an issue with partying and noise here...

ChristieP- Thank you very much for that info! That is very helpful. I've heard and read that about Mustang Drive, so I will keep that in mind.

You can also find individually-owned apartments in the historic part of downtown. There is a group on Ball Street, right across from the beautiful Botanic Gardens, that was recently remodeled and has granite counters, etc. PM me if you want the phone number.

I love Grapevine but that area around Grapevine Mills is so sterile. No parks, no grocery stores. Just the box stores surrounding the Mall bounded by busy freeways. Although the lake dam and golf courses are close. I'd look farther down Northwest Highway off of Main St.and Dove road.
