I am not that familar with Hwy 377 north of 114 or 802 Loop---is there anyone who drives it on a fairly regular basis that could give some info...
I found a house in Argyle that looks interesting but my husband as tried to drive I-35 from downtown FTW in after-work traffic and said he would not move to Argyle---in fact north of Mt. Gilead pretty much....

So anyone w/some regular insight would be appreciated....my son drives that way sometimes when he is coming or going to UNT from Bedford instead of taking I-35---said it is more like farm road--but that can mean bad traffic because there is little room for passing and few lights for traffic control....

loves2read, I drive up that way every so often when I am traveling to Oklahoma on business. Does your husband not like the traffic from downtown Fort Worth to Argyle in the evening? I'm not quite sure of the route that your son takes to Argyle. Is he taking 114? If so, then the time will probably be about the same and if your husband works in DT Fort Worth that wouldn't be an option anyway. Either way, if your husband doesn't like the drive, I would consider it a hard sell. You live in Bedford right?

Your son is fairly accurate if you are comparing 377 to... I35W. 377 IS more of a (modern) farm road. There are some traffic lights and the speeds change here and there. As a "rush hour" route, I would have to admit it is populated. But it doesn't stay as busy as LONG as it would on other major city thoroughfares. So you have to sort of "plan" your trip up and down and you can possibly get a fairly smooth trip.

Now, whatever you do, do NOT consider 377 South of 114 heading towards Keller as a traffic route. OMG, what a mess! There is so much construction that it just bottlenecks and leaves you dead-in-place for what seems like an eternity. 377 North of 114 is not 'that' bad (that I have ever experienced).
