Exactly! No income tax but high property tax...so basicaly it's a wash.
Really pay attention to the RE taxes as they vary widly from area to area.

Good luck...If I can help with the Keller part let me know. I know NOTHING about Burleson though but I am sure if you search on here you find school and neighborhood info.
(it would be the better commute)

Burleson looks really hit or miss. The schools don't look quite as solid in the closer in area. The Joshua schools look great, but that is further out (equaling the drive to Keller).

Keller looks like it hits most of the criteria. A girl just can't have it all for $150-$250k for a house, so I am realistic.

As far as the commute goes, when we visit in a few weeks, I may book us a hotel near Keller as that will provide the most accurate commute details for us.

Any particularly fabulous Keller schools or ones to avoid. Starting the Fall I will have an over achieving 6th grader who loves science, reading, volleyball and social studies. I will also have an under achieving (very bright, but very easily bored-no follow through) 5th grader who likes math, history, martial arts and basketball.

Suggestions? Input? Comments?

I bow to all of your wealth of knowledge. Keep it coming!
