Hello there.

I really, really need to escape the Frozen North. I've been nosing around the Houston pages but am starting to look toward Fort Worth.

Of course I'll start by renting, and would be grateful for some guidance from you handsome and intelligent folks. I'm good for $700 (my current mortgage, for a very nice 1926 house) but I might squeeze to $800 if it makes a big difference.

It would be good to be in a reasonably safe place. I'm not one of those weenies whose car doors automatically lock when I put 'er in gear (No offense to all the weenies out there. Some of my best friends are weenies.) My current neighborhood is mostly Puerto Rican and African-American; we white guys are at about 15-20 percent. I don't mind shootings so much. I'm very skinny and hard to hit. I would like to avoid burglaries. Pretty much everything I own is vintage or customized and pretty much irreplaceable. I don't like noise or bugs, but cute little spiders are okay.

Is that enough to get you calibrated?

Thanks

S
