OK I apologize in advance if this is repetative as I'm sure it's been brought up before but could not find it specificly under search. Fort Worth has the 2nd city complex in the DFW metroplex, much like say Seattle/Tacoma or Minneapolis/St. Paul. I am coming to Dallas in a month. What is it about Fort Worth that would compell me to jump on the TRE rail and pay a visit. From what I have read it seems Fort Worth is a little more authenticly Texan. What are the redeeming qualities of Fort Worth?

I haven't been to Dallas yet, but I am moving to Fort Worth tomorrow actually. It seems like everyone I talk to in Fort Worth says the people are nicer in FTW, city is cleaner, downtown safer, and is more laid back city compared to Dallas which is more like an east coast type city...

The people in FW are very friendly, and yes it is more laid back with a very safe downtown (also quite a bit to do).

But the bottom line (IMO) is that the people are some of the best you'll find anywhere, whether it be a big city or even a rural area. Fort Worth is a really great place and I'm not a native of this area but lived here for 21 years.

What I really like about Fort Worth and what I feel makes it unique is that you have all the amenities and pizazz of a big city, but with a small town feel.

The people are friendly, the traffic isn't too bad, and the crime rate is lower than most cities.

Overall it's a great place to live.
