Interesting article in today's FTW paper about the Keller Central High top 10 seniors--all guys...
the #11 spot was a girl who is also class president--she was pushed down by junior who graduated early
(I thought that practice was prohibited in some ISDS but guess it is not TEA rule)..
has list of other area schools with rations of M/F in top 10

interesting --Colleyville Heritage has 7/3 M/F ratio--next highest

a check of the 21 schools in the list showed that 12 of them have more F than M in top 10--little more than half...

Keller district's Central High School has all males in its top 10 graduates | Schools | ...

very interesting indeed! goes to show that true accomplishment is what matters and not necessarily the need to have a "mix" of gender and/or other diversity factors. I'm Hispanic but would rather not see a hispanic kid in the group unless he/she deserves the spot!

Fossil Ridge has 6 girls and 4 boys while Keller HS had 8 girls and 2 boys.
So, across the entire district it's pretty even with 16 boys and 14 girls.

Central is the new high school === right???

think that may have made a difference in that if those students were still at their old schools how many of them would still have been in top 10

not saying they did not deserve to be there--but those GPAs differ by hundredths of a %--so very competitive...

I know a couple of families that moved the kids from Keller High or Central to Timbercreek so that they would make top 10! One has a lower GPA than my daughter at Keller high (who is 97th in the class and in top 20%) That child is in Top 10% at Timbercreek.

Smaller class size and lower socio economic stats...
Same thing happens with Fossil Creek. Kids across the district with better grades don't make the cut because Keller and Central are more competitive.
