Few people in Birmingham would say it is a top 10 downtown or even top thousand. I would have thought a list with Frederick on it would have a Greenville SC or Charlottesville VA. Alexandia was one of the few that seemed consistent.

I'm not really surprised that Frederick made the list. I saw Indy also made the list, which I agree with - it has a walkable core, and is clean, safe, and fun. Frankly, I'm surprised Frederick didn't make the list in earlier years - perhaps the Carroll Creek project finally gave it that extra push it needed!
