Some of us are movie buffs. Watching a movie on DVD is one of the more frugal forms of entertainment.

Then we have the problem with finding the DVD that we are looking for. I used to use $2 Bankers Boxes. Costs about $20 for a box of ten at Costco...for example. Costco sells a higher quality box than Sams Club. Trouble is that once a title is buried, it is hard to find.

You will need a table saw with a guide for this. Set the guide at 5", this will split the Bankers Box exactly in half. Now you have two boxes, each box holds 44 titles like a custom fit. Best thing is that now you can see all the titles.

Not a problem for you? I have about 800 movies on VHS, about 800 on DVD. The bargains are out there, you just have to find them.

Now the problem is that DVDs often just quit playing when they get old. This does take a number of years of course. I need to get archival blank DVDs and make a copy for long term storage. Anyone know a frugal way to get a large number of archival blank DVDs?

EDIT: I do recommend high quality boxes as strength is lost when the box is cut in half. Weyerhauser boxes work extremely well. That is all that I have experience with cutting.

EDIT: Costco currently carries blue and white Banker's Boxes. Their quality is ~ the same as the green and white Weyerhauser boxes.

Now why does C-D give such a very short time to correct our posts? A week would be far preferable. I make typing mistakes all the time with a laptop bouncing around in the lap.
