Things you choose to buy in Quantity while sacrificing Quality?

Where most people do this is in purchasing access to tv programming rather than being selective and getting programming through DVDs or even streaming. For some, a $120 cable bill is just another expense.
Riding lawnmowers is a case where I do quantity over quality. I can pick up a used one for about $300. New would be four times as much. With the amount of rough acreage I have, I only expect one to last a couple of years before the deck is worn out or the kishkas are shaken out of it. The same thing would happen to a new one, so I save a lot of money.
I don't really do this with anything myself, but my parents do. My dad is a builder/property manager/real estate agent. He goes through tools like there is no tomorrow. He has worn out, broken, lost or had stolen at least 3 pressure washers, at least a dozen lawnmowers (probably closer to 20), dozens of ladders, and countless hoses, rakes, garbage cans, shovels, etc. So he buys the cheap ones because they likely won't last him more than a week anyway.
For the same amount of money, I'd rather get 2x the # of coach class plane tickets rather than 1x the # of first class tickets. And for the same amount of money budgeted for lodging, I'd rather stay many days at a cheaper hotel than a few days at a 4 or 5 star one.
One of the few things I don't sacrifice on quality is electronics. Now, I don't buy super high end audiophile electronics but I do buy very good name brands. Car is something I buy in quality since I drive it till it dies.
My wife doesn't like cheap brand toilet paper so she buys a car load when good brands go on sale for $5 for 12 double roll like Scotts, Charmin, Cottonelle.
I've sacrificed quality in food. You won't catch me paying $8-10 per pound for meat. You'll see me pay for $1-4 per pound for lesser cut or substitute the meat, for example, buying pork over beef, etc. You'll never catch me at any of those fancy grocery stores spending my hard earned money when I can buy it at discount outlet like Grocery Outlet. Many times, I pick store brands over brand names when shopping for canned items, cereal, bread, etc.
Clothes is another thing I don't care for quality. I think the most high end I ever spent my money on clothes was at JC Penney. Yeah, how high end is JC Penney? LMFAO. Bought some suits there decade or so ago. Other than that, you'll see me shop at Walmart, Target, or Ross for clothes. Once every 3 yrs or so, I'll go to Burlington Coat. Yeah, I know, I'm stylish. LOL.
