I inherited a couch that smells like dog. I like dogs, so I can deal with it.

I washed all the cushion covers and they are okay. I sprayed the foam from the seat cushions with Febreeze and hung them on the line in a hammock I made out of an old sheet.

The back cushions are too big to fit into the dryer as is. They are filled with lumpy loose poly fill. I plan to wrap the loose fill with quilt batting to give them more shape and a firmer appearance. But how to wash the loose fill? Can I just put it in the washer loose? Or should I put it in some sort of smaller cover like a zippered pillow protector and do half a cushion at a time?

Or should I just fill up the bathtub with detergent and water, then rinse it all out in the shower? Then I can hang it on my clothesline 'hammock'.

I looked into replacing it all with foam but it was going to be $100

Wwyd?

Do you have multiple zippered pillow cases? I'd partially fill several of those so they could move around freely in the washing machine.
