Since you ask, I was recently thrilled to discover dollar sized gain detergent in my local dollar store. I love the smell of gain. I bought a few of them and mixed them with some cheap detergent and love the results!

I use Awesome from the 99centsOnlyStore and it is great! If something is badly stained, I pretreat with a couple drops of Dawn and then wash as usual.

I like the Totally Awesome Stain Remover. It is probably the best stain remover that I have used. That is 24 oz for only $1 which is less than half of what you will pay for Spray and Wash.

I am less impressed by the Totally Awesome Laundry Detergent.

Awesome makes a cleaning spray that is totally wonderful too. Comes in a spray bottle too. Worth trying! Powers thru greasy stuff like crazy. I have probably tried all the detergents Awesome makes and other than scent, they are pretty much the same. I have never tried the stain remover but now I will be looking for it!

Works fine, I just used some in a load.........very smelly-fresh scent!!!!

I strongly suspect that dollar-based stores are pulling a LOT of money away from Walmart and similar.

Yes! The LA's Totally Awesome stain remover is GREAT. It is by far the best I have ever used. I've never seen it at Dollar General but get it at Dollar Tree for $1 for a nice-sized spray bottle.

As far as the detergent from Dollar General, I have tried both Xtra and Sun. Both are very cheap and work well.

The Dollar General here sells the same brands of detergent that every other store sells, you're going to have to be a little more specific.
