Do i just bring my yarn to the ups store and they just weigh it and tell the cost of shipping?

Go to Ebay and look at the same yarn you have now to get ideas of sale prices. I'd suggest Ebay since you get special rates through the US Postal Service. The label prints on your home printer, you hand the package to your local carrier so you have zero expense to drive to the post office. And these shipping labels give you a tracking number.
Weigh your item and go to the postal site and look to see what the postage is from your location to the east coast and west coast. Let that be your shipping. You will know it won't be higher than that.
We use 90004 to determine shipping. If they are closer and the cost is slightly less then good.
Ebay and Paypal total fees will be 12.9% and it sounds like alot but selling yarn on Craigslist or other site may take a long while. Ebay reaches at least over 100 million people. They do have an international shipping program so you can offer you items to dozens of other countries. The cost to ship to any of them for you will only be the postage from your location to
Kentucky. That is where the items leave for the countries and if they arrive in Kentucky that counts as a delivered item to France or wherever.
