I am considering cancelling my cable, internet, and landline. Having doubts as to whether I could do it long term because I do banking and pay bills by automated payment transfers.
Anyone else made these changes and been succesful?
I canceled cable and landline a long time ago. I won't cancel internet, though -- it's necessary in my daily life. Like you, I do my banking, bill paying, etc., online.
As long as you have a smartphone with internet access you should have no problems with it. All the bills can be paid via apps or phone's internet. See my other post in "Cord Cutting pros/cons " thread.
If bill pay is all you are concerned with regards to internet, it's definitely possible.
Depending on how close to civilization you live, you might be able to get one of those 'Double Bi-Quad' internet antennas and sponge of MacDonalds free internet from far away. Here is a website about them:

Yes, I did 14 months ago. Not much choice in the matter, as I relocated to a very rural area and there just isn't any reliable service available without a satellite dish.
I use my phone for banking, etc. Not from home, but it works fine when I am in town. Another option is to use a computer at the library.
Regarding banking online, I have the philosophy that if it isn't online, they can't hack it.
My husband's identity was stolen because of a check I wrote to pay our rent. Nothing online about it...it emptied our accounts, cost us lots of time and the expenses of having things notarized and faxed, and 5 years down the road, my husband was arrested and spent a night in jail because of the identity theft. The charges were dropped the next day but the arrest stayed on his record, unless we wanted to spend $2000 on a lawyer to get it expunged.
If you still write paper checks, that's much riskier than banking online.
But in the last few years I've been ill and not able to go places like I used to, so I've started using some of the video streaming services for entertainment. I'm currently paying for Netflix, Amazon Prime and Starz. Amazon Prime is useful because I can't go into a lot of stores anymore, so I order the things I need. I feel a little guilty about spending the money on Netflix and Starz, but we don't go to the movies or eat at restaurants anymore so I tell myself the savings on that offsets my video streaming expenses.
I having been doing it for a while. It is really not bad.
