Mueller Pasta on sale for $.79 and in the November 1, 2020 coupon inserts was a coupon to save 75 cents when you buy two boxes. And there is a store that doubles the value of the coupon.
Final costs as low as $.04.
Being economic, frugal, cheap, etc. how many boxes would you buy and why?

Check the expiration date on the boxes. Figure how many times you will be eating the pasta before it expires and purchase accordingly. We have about 18 1lb boxes of various type of pastas in our pantry.

Expiration dates on dried pasta mean (practically) nothing.

How many I'd buy would depend on how many coupons I had.
One coupon I'd get just two boxes. Two coupons I guess I might get four. I hardly eat boxed pasta so even the two boxes could last me for months.

More than one coupon could mean spitting the order at the register. Sometimes I'm in the mood for that. Sometimes not.

I don't buy pasta, I make it. I buy flour in bulk, though.

Check with the person in line behind you to see if they're in the mood for that!

I don't eat refined wheat pasta but if the deal were on something I ate, I might get a max of a year's supply- just because, to me, any more than that borders on hoarding. I might also buy extra to donate to a food bank.

For me at least, this falls into the same category as a lot of other coupons.........a discount for buying lower quality food.

Coupons for buying Hohos, Dingdongs, Flamin Cheetos and similar type items...........I really do not need. Give me a coupon for 10% off nutritious, quality food, not the junk.

This is one of the reasons I don't bother with manufacturer's coupons- that, and doing most of my shopping at Costco, which doesn't take them. Most of what I pick up at the grocery store is fresh produce and I do look for specials on those, using my loyalty cards.

well, if i ate pasta id probably say to id buy as many as i can get coupons for. i make it for my kids but it doesnt go so fast. so maybe id buy 10 if i could and id give the coupons to someone who cared.

back when i was couponing about 8 years ago i found myself able to get a lot of peter pan peanut butter for 19 cents a jar using coupons. i got as many as i could. the next 2 years or so i had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day for lunch at work. let me tell you, from day 1 to the last day, i still loved those sandwiches. it never got old.
