I built raised bed to keep the ground squirrels at bay (and to have a better planting bed), but now I have quail digging in the garden. We have a temporary scare crow up, but anyone have a good deterrent to keep the quail at bay. I was thinking using some of the holographic ribbons, but don' tknow if they work. Thanks!

I've got the same problem, except with doves. They've scratched up at least half of my second planting of corn. Our house is in a residential area, so shooting them isn't an option. Hope there are some folks out there with some good ideas.

My wife has placed a decorative scarecrow out there. It has grass "hands" that sway in the wind. It's been two days, and seems to be working. I think it only has to work until the all the plants come up and get larger. I doubt the quail will yank heads of lettuce or collards out of the ground.
