To me it looks like a variety of asiatic lily.

Yes, it does.
If you still have the photo on your camera, take it to the nursery and show them. They'll tell you exactly what it is. They're so smart.

Agree with posters: Asiatic Lilly...there are many species and dozens of varietals/hybrids.
Tough plant, once established, if it likes where it is.

I can only add that if it is growing in a clump of straplike leaves, it's a variety of daylily.

Without seeing the leaves/stalk ID gets tricky. The background made it look more like it would be a daylily than an Asiatic lily to me. The alternating ruffled petals also resemble more daylilies than other lily types I've seen. The closest match to the flower in the daylilies is the following "Coral Crab": Oakes Daylilies - CORAL CRAB
additional pictures can be seen here alomg with growing info:

I had no luck finding an Asian or Oriental lily fitting the combination of petal color and anther color and ruffles. It doesn't mean it isn't one, I just could not find one with a short search.

It's really nice !
It's easy , cut short the time and, tell your friend to ask their neighbors about it's name.
That's it.
