I had zucchinis for dinner last night. I found one misshapen one that was hiding in the backyard. Japanese radioactive rain? I also had my first purple pole beans! They're yummy, even though they turned green. It looks like the rabbits are eating up my cilantro grr. But they seem to be leaving the kohlrabi leaves alone. Hopefully I can try some of that soon.
Not quite ready to eat from the garden, but I did pick my first grape tomato this morning: it is almost as big as a roma, so I am pretty excited, plus we have not had beans twice and I have a few squash that will be ready in a few days.
I did pick blackberries this morning as well, but they are not in the garden, they are growning wild. Usually the deer eat them before we can pick, this year we haven't seen nearly as many deer.
Today I had a few cherry tomatoes. Like Nita, I am waiting on my squash to grow. One of my eggplants just died after it was almost the size of a tennis ball. There is another one growing on the same plant, at least this means the plant is OK. It's just amazing how each plant although next to each other is acting different.
