I picked some more yellow tomatoes, a few reds and a handful of cherry tomatoes. I am noticing the cherry tomatoes are starting to split, I think it is due to the crazy weather we have had this year. I still have a lot more and am going to follow the advise of our newspaper gardening specialist. She said leave the plants in the ground til the very late fall. More buds are likely. I am pulling up the green beans, maybe tomorrow. I will re-plant see what happens.
The splitting tomatoes? I think so, plus we go from almost drowning and temps 10 degrees below normal to 10 degrees above and hot, humid weather in a day or so, and then back again. Here is an example, the high tomorrow is supposed to be about 79, usually the end of July we are hanging near 100.
Oh and then the beams I picked a few days ago, well most of them ended up with no beans in them, but the outside. I have never had that happen before. I went to get them ready for tonight and ended up with just barely enough to put in a salad.
Yesterday I got peaches, squash (black beauty + yellow crookneck) and two blackberries.
