Got some peppers and tomatoes. I managed to save 1/2 a cucumber from the worms :-( they are eating all the cucks, even the little ones. They drill a whole and go inside, very sad to see that. My tomatoes are dying as well, so I am ready to start my fall garden.

I picked a few cherry tomatoes, a couple small yellow ones and a lot of basil. I used the basil to make pesto; yum yum!!!!!

This is just sad, you know cause of the cool and moist summer I was expecting the best crop I had ever had, but, like you, the bugs did us in. Our tomatoes are ok, just small and the bottom branches got too much rain, thus the withered away, taking tomato blossoms with them. We still do have a lot of blossoms though. The cukes did nothing to speak of, and the squash was a disaster. Early I thought I would have to beg people to take my squash like I did several years ago. It has turned out we only got maybe a dozen. I pulled the majority of the plants out last week, but left a few just in case. So far, nothing. The cantaloupe that were not that tasty last year but nice and big are about the size of an orange and not a giant orange either. I do have a few bell peppers and a few jalapenos. I think next month will bring more.

We are so over-run with gorgeous tomatoes. I've given them to all my neighbors. Today we gave a bag to the UPS driver. LOL Looking forward to our watermelon and cantaloupe.

Just a reminder to all: if you have more than you know what to do with, please check with your local food banks and soup kitchens to see if you can donate. It's on my list of things to do here in the next couple of days.

Today I noticed one of my sweet 100 is starting to turn red that will be my first, Went to the farmers market the other day and was amazed at all the local produce, I asked a couple of them how they were able harvest at this time and they both stated we use a greenhouse to get a early start sure hope mine maks it through the winter.

1/2 dozen jalapenos, 2 were red, a couple of tomatoes and to my surprise I picked one of the cantalopes (spelling) and cut into it. I have never tasted one much better. I was so excited, we had it for breakfast.

Yesterday, I had broccoli leaves and steamed zucchini.

Today, I'll harvest another broccoli floret , fresh parsley and check to see if the nubs of carrots have grown any since a couple of weeks ago.

We finally got some rain
