Not exactly a gardening question since my LB is an indoor plant. I grow it in water. It sits on a window ledge. Had it for a couple years, but now it's turning yellow.
I had the same problem. I've had a lucky bamboo since 2009, then a year ago it started turning yellow. I repotted it and moved it to a sunnier location, and its green again.
Mine is in a south window so it gets good sun. I thought it might be too much sun actually. I bought it for my desk with a north window, but turns out kitty likes to nibble on it and I think it's poisonous. So I moved it to the only place she can't reach.
LOL Oohhh it is turning into a lemon? My lucky "bamboo" wasn't doing great in water, either. I think after a while the plants need nutrients. I put mine in a pot and I'm looking at it now and it (actually, they...the original jar had several) looks super.

Want to green it up, add some liquid iron to some liquid fish emulsion in regular water. You're plant is probably nutrient depleted and overwatered.
Mine has been in the same pot for 3 years and I add nutients with iron to it every 8 weeks and water it only once a week lightly. It's grown from 6 inches now its 2 feet. It sits in a south window with filtered sunlight for about 6-8 hours.
I have discovered "Lucky Bamboo" does start to turn yellow after 2 - 3 years. I think it has to do with the chlorine in ordinary tap water. On the other hand, don't use distilled or de-natured water ... it has no minerals or nutrients in it. My suggestion is that you try bottled mineral water that has not been distilled.
I'm not sure I want mine to grow. It's curly LB. Wouldn't it lose its curl?
I can't make it to the store for a few days, so I made do with what I have on hand. Boiled some tap water to get rid of the chlorine. Let it cool and dissolved one of my iron supplements in it along with a tiny bit of all purpose fertilizer. Changed the water out and replaced with this concoction. It's muddy and ugly, but if it helps I'd be willing to use this for a week every month or so.
