I got in my car and noticed what looked like tiny strawberries growing all over the yard....

My house has a large incline and when it rains, everything comes running down that path into the creek.

What do you think?

I have tasted them a couple of times. They taste like absolutly nothing. Not worth the effort to bend over and pick them. I don't know if they are safe to eat.

Wild Strawberries...are they safe to eat?
Only when they're tamed.

I had a neighbor, a very elderly lady, who picked wild strawberries and made the most amazing jam from them.

Never knew how she did made it.

Yup, that's them!

I would think that the jam would be lots of sugar, pectin and something else for flavoring. It would be a good color. Maybe Almond Extract for a little extra flavoring????

I have those in my yard too. I've eaten them before but they don't really taste like anything.

Are those strawberries or fragaria indica? It is a "weed" and I have the stuff all over my yard, too. I ate them as a kid and I'm still alive, but the jury's still out on any possible brain damage.
