I would LOVE to have one of the greenest yards in my neighborhood. What is your regimen during the year to keep that beautiful lawn green and lush?!

We recently had someone come out and power rake, aerate, and slow fertilize our lawn. Our lawn has some patches of green grass coming in, but for the most part still brownish while most of the neighborhood looks like they flipped a light switch and their entire lawn is green already What are we doing wrong?

Do you have the same grass as your neighbors? Is your yard more shaded than theirs? How did you treat your grass over the winter as far as watering? Is your yard maybe on a more rocky area? Talk to some of your neighbors with the green yards and see what they do. It's a great way to get to know your neighbors!

It's possible you might have the same problem as me - zoysia grass. Zoysia is a warm season grass that doesn't turn green until late spring, usually when temperatures average around 70 degrees.

Any typical lawn fertilizer with 2% iron will do wonders to your lawn. [with a warning- do not let any of the ironized fertilizer get on concrete]
