I planted a new bush and when backfilling the soil some cedar mulch got mixed into the hole. I'm just wondering if this is bad for the soil quality and is it worth pulling up the bush and cleaning it out. It wasn't too much that got in there.

I doubt very much that you need to be concerned. You might do more harm than good in trying to replant.
