I'm also getting Zoysia done. They may actually start today. House was built in 2005 and sodded with fescue at that time. Reseeded every year. Mid-June till late August were just terrible. Crazy water bills just trying to keep acceptable. Fighting a losing battle with crab grass the whole time.

Definitely don't want to sod cool weather grasses during the summer. But a great time for the warm ones.

hydroseeding is the only safe bet in mid summer.
You'll still need to keep it wet

We had fescue sod installed in our yard in July of 2007. Our grass survived despite the horrible drought that year, but it required a lot of water and we were always worried about it.
