Ah! I have a bush in my back yard that I just couldn't figure out - the leaves are about the same as in the pictures, but OP or anyone else - the flowers that come on this bush almost look like dogwood blooms, not balls or like a lacecap. White, no odor I can tell, and the flowers really don't last a very long time. Is that viburnum also? I would post a picture but it wouldn't do much good since the blossoms are gone now. Also, a sun bush? Mine is in fairly heavy shade (in the center of the yard and needs to be moved for that reason alone - I cannot figure out how it ended up there!). It blooms quite prolifically but the blooms are short-lived - wonder if it would bloom longer if it were moved? I'm running out of sunny areas...and this thing is enormous.
There are scentless varieties and there are some that have flatter flowering heads but I can't think of any that sound like your bush. You could try looking through the following listing of viburnums to see if any look like what you have as a start. http://www.classicviburnums.com/inde...main/index.htm
