Pulling weeds is not the way to combat weeds anywhere.
When you pull them, you do NOT kill the root, which is often about 8 -12 inches below ground.
The thing to do is to do what post # 4 has suggested.
You need to apply the weed killer to the leaves.
My method:
I let the weeds grow to about 4-6 inches high.
Then put some *straight - not diluted* weed killer in a plastic baggie.
I then put the weeds inside the baggie and tie it closed with a used wire tie.
Works for about a 6 months period. After a few years, no more weeds except a rare occasion from a *seed* that has blown over from somewhere else.
If you have plants that have a *space* below the main branches/leaves, then a good steam mop can kill most *unwanted grasses*.
Just move the steam mop, over the grass and it will kill the grass around it.
Last week we were in the nursery and noticed a card on the bulletin board for a person willing to weed and tend your garden. Didn't have a price, but you might check around on local bulletin boards, especially at garden centers.
