I have a few silvervase orchids and they wilt and die after a week

Does anyone know what some good procedures are to help this?. I use the special orchid potting soil and don't overwater. I also keep them in diffused light, and inside if it gets cold.

They are so beautiful, but so hard to keep alive. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dream,
Go to their web site. They have an orchid care section.
You can get your questions answered there.
Orchids are the easiest plants for me to keep alive, so I don't
understand what you are doing wrong with them.

are they easy?

I did visit the site. All it says is dont overwater.

mine are wilted . It is getting cold at night now so I keep them indoors away from draft.

i think the pot is very small, perhaps it needs a wider one?.

This site has some detailed information re: orchids. maybe it will help.

Overwatering is of course, bad. I think mine was on the terrace in the rain one evening

Help! I think my orchid is dying!!! - Orchids Forum - GardenWeb

Also is the special moss/soil they sell worth buying? I have seen this at Lowe's.

Cymbidium orchids like the ones in your pictures are semi-terrestrial. Most advice you see regarding orchids is aimed at epiphytic types like phalaenopsis. Here is a link to the American Orchid Society's care sheet for cymbidiums:
