Greetings! Please share what you use for Garden Art in your garden. I recently saw some Bowling balls covered in pennies and thought what a brillant idea. Am I the only one that picks up and saves pennies? Any one use plain bowling balls in their garden? How do they hold up to the UV and extreme temps in Florida? I have a beautiful blue one that looks like the earth and thought of hanging it in my Nautical theme bedroom. How wierd would that be... any thoughts
Years ago, I saw where someone had lined their front walk with bowling balls buried 3/4 of the way i n the soil, and filled in with low ground cover. Very colorful and funky.
Probably a no-go with an HOA.

Plenty weird if you don't use a ceiling hook that can handle up to 16 pounds or so.
I gutted a gas barbecue grill and opened the lid, poured dirt in added dracena spikes, geraniums, and sweet potato vine......stunning. The pink and red geraniums against the black grill, I also added a few white impatiens to really make it pop.
There is no end to idea for garden art. My favorite is found objects like an old wooden chair with the cane seat removed and just the right size flower pot installed. or a rusted old wheelbarrow with drainage holes and filled to the brim with annuals or clay pots on their sides partially buried in the garden with annuals "spilling" out or....oh I'll never get to sleep now what with images and ideas in my head this late!
thanks for sharing your ideas. Expected this post to be much more popular having seen so many objects repurposed in the Garden. Can't find any info on the durability of bowling balls in Florida UV exposure.

I have no idea how durable they'd be, but most bowling balls don't see the light of day.
